Today has become celebrated as an international day of blogging to draw attention to women excelling in technology. Ada Lovelace was one of the world’s first computer programmers, and one of the first people to recognize and understand computers as more than just a machine for doing sums. She wrote programmes for Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine, a general-purpose computing machine, which by the way was never built.Ada has gone down in history for writing the very first description of a computer and of software. According to the site FindingAda.com, “Women’s contributions often go unacknowledged, their innovations seldom mentioned, their faces rarely recognized. We want you to tell the world about these unsung heroines. Entrepreneurs, innovators, sysadmins, programmers, designers, games developers, hardware experts, tech journalists, tech consultants, etc. The list of tech-related careers is endless.”
One of the ways WE Magazine has promoted women blogging is by creating our popular list of 101 Women Bloggers to Watch for 2010.

Today is also Harry Houdini DayBorn Erik Weisz on March 24, 1874 in Budapest, Hungary, Harry Houdini is the most famous magician in history. His family emigrated to the United States when he was 4 years old. From a young age, he loved magic and became a master at escapes which lead to his worldwide fame.
