February 2nd is Groundhog Day

February 2nd is Groundhog Day ~  a popular tradition in the United States (there was even a movie made about it!).

On February 2nd folks anxiously wait to see if Punxsutawney Phil (The designated Groundhog) will come out of his hole after a long winter sleep to look for his shadow.

If he sees his shadow it is a sign that we will have six more weeks of bad weather, whereby Phil will return underground. If on the other the day is cloudy and shadow less, it is a sign that spring is just around the corner and Phil stays above ground.

Did you know that this year Phil has gone high tech and is making his his weather prediction via your mobile phone. To find out Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction simply “Groundhog” to 247365 between now and Groundhog Day. Now that’s what I call marketing! The only problem is, what are they selling????
