June 12th is Red Roses Day

Did you know that June is ROSE Month?  And that today is Red Roses Day?
Fossil records of roses date back 3.5 billion years. In the 1600s, colonists brought the rose to America making it the oldest European plant grown in the US.
“Modern” rose hybrids appeared in 1867, and by 1920 hybrid tea roses dominated the market and still remain the most popular variety today. Red roses, the national US flower signify love and respect.
How could you use red roses in your marketing to get the attention for your company?
I belong to several organizations including two chambers of commerce. Each month the chamber publishes their new member list.  I go through the list and see who I might like to introduce to my company. And then I send them either a long-stem red rose in a vase or a vase of orchids. This has been a great marketing strategy because several of these companies have become my customers. The chambers average between 20 and 40 new members a month and we average about 4-5 new customers a month from those lists.
I also recently joined a local women’s group that does the same thing to welcome them to the organization. I sure did enjoy receiving the rose ~ it was a warm and inviting Welcoming message.
