cli·ché also cliche (kl-sh) A trite or overused expression or idea.
How many times a day (or an hour) do you find yourself “grasping at straws” to find the right words to use? Is using cliche’s in everyday speech “all over the map“? How about your writing? Are you writing about “the business at hand” or are you doing a “brain dump?” Well if you are bothered by the overuse of cliches by you or anyone for that matter, remember “the buck stops here” and you can use all the cliche’s you want to today!
That’s right! Today is Cliche Day and it is perfectly acceptable to “beat the street” “knock it out of the park,” and “think outside the box,” for the next 24 hours.
If you are looking some ways to add cliches to your everyday patter, you can subscribe to Cliche of the Day.
The cliche for today is to “go through the roof” which translates to become very upset or angry. The cliche or saying originated in the United States.
To “sweeten the pot” I have added a few other cliche sites you can visit and learn more.

And yes, there is “a light at the end of the tunnel” for cliche day is only 24 hours long. “Tomorrow is another day!” You can “wipe the slate clean,” but for today, “the ball is in your court!” Just be careful how you use cliche’s in your marketing messages. Good marketing messages are “few and far between.” Remember “if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again!”
