February 15th – 19th is Random Acts of Kindness Week ~ Contact local Assisted Living Centers for Senior Citizens (this is different then a nursing home!) and see if you can come in & offer a shopping opportunity to their Senior Residents! If you are in retail, this should not be too difficult. You can also partner with another company that offers items Seniors love, want and need. And offer to work together. Offer the “partner company” to help underwrite some of the costs by being a sponsor for the events. Go with them to the centers.
Seniors can NOT get out like they used to so they appreciate being able to shop from home. Since many of them don’t own computers (or may not be particularly computer savvy) by offering a one-on-one shopping experience to them – not only will they appreciate the opportunity to shop, they also appreciate the adult company!
If you are a lawyer you can do what one of my clients do and offer to draw up a FREE will for the residents.
You could volunteer your time and TAKE them shopping. Our seniors often have no outside connections except when volunteers come and help them out. What a great way to show you care during “random acts of kindness” week!
This week in my retail florist, we are sending small rose bouquets to thank our customers for their business and tell them how much we LOVE THEM! We are signing the card: In honor of Random Acts of Kindness Week, Eden Florist is sending you Sweet Thoughts!
