Today in Marketing History February 5th

February 5th is Weatherpersons’ Day ~ Send your local weatherperson a card or flowers or a plant acknowledging the day.  In 2000 my company did this

for the first time and then during the 10:00 o’clock news the local weatherperson thanked us – on air!  The following year we sent flowers to the weatherpersons at all four local television stations and each of them sent me a beautiful thank you note and some included an autographed picture.  We laminated them and put them on display for everyone to see.  And one of them has ordered flowers from me!  Reminds me that we must do this again.

February 5th is also Go RED for Women Day ~ Did you know that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S. ?You can help combat that statistic when you share the profits of products and services you offer on this day.  Mention to your customers/clients that a portion (or specific %) of all sales on Go Red for Women Day will go toward the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease.
